One of the nation's oldest active community theatre groups, the Aurora Players began in the early 1930s as a study group meeting in members' living rooms for dramatic readings. In 1941, Aurora Players incorporated and then gained the use of the historic Roycroft Pavilion in Hamlin Park, located in the center of the village. Over the years, Aurora Players converted the open air picnic shelter into the present theatre, comfortably seating just under 200 persons. Aurora Players performs three shows per year: usually including a musical, a comedy and a drama or mystery. Players has earned the reputation for presenting quality theatre entertainment throughout Western New York.

Hawk Creek is one of the largest not-for-profit educational outreach and raptor rehabilitation facilities in New York State. Through over 2500 education programs and 500 animal patients each year, Hawk Creek reconnects humans to the natural world and inspires an appreciation of nature.

Elbert Hubbard and his Roycroft Renaissance continue to blossom in East Aurora and throughout the country. A National Historic landmark since 1986, the fourteen-building (9 public) Roycroft Campus attracts thousands annually through today's similarly inspired artists and artisans. Craftsman bungalow house A Craftsman bungalow house is filled with artifacts of Elbert Hubbard, publisher and founder of one of America's most successful Arts and Crafts Colonies, "The Roycroft," in East Aurora, NY. Hubbard was able to attract writers and artisans like Stephen Crane and Walter Jennings and visitors to the Roycroft by Rockefeller, Ford and Edison. The Roycroft Craftsmens' fine books, copperware, leather crafts and furniture are on display at the Museum. June 1-Oct. 15; Wed, Sat, Sun; 1-4pm; Closed holidays, $5 per person

On January 1, 2008 history was made in Orchard Park, NY. Ralph Wilson Stadium hosted the first ever outdoor NHL game in the United States. The NHL "Winter Classic" game matched the Buffalo Sabres against the Pittsburgh Penguins before a record-setting crowd of 71,217. The Winter Classic portable rink system was purchased later in 2008 and erected as a tribute rink to this historic event in the center of the Village of East Aurora. The Winter Classic rink is now operating under an open-sided pavilion roof in East Aurora.
