Map Browsing Tips
You can move around on the maps by:
Clicking on the Zoom Tool
Clicking on the Arrow Graphics on the Side of the Map

At any point you can put the cursor over a colored dot (which represents a tree and/or site) and see that tree and/or site's approximate street address. If you click on a dot, you will get a table of information for that tree and/or site. There is also a Legend Tool to help you associate the colors of the dots with certain tree and/or site recommendations.

The following information will be shown in the table:

Tree ID The tree's unique identification code, used for tracking purposes.
Approximate Street Address This is the closest Street Address we could find for the tree. Not all trees have addresses associated with them
Tree Species This is the common name used to represent a particular tree species. The sub-species common name is also listed if known.
Tree Diameter This is the tree's diameter range listed by inches
Tree and Site Description Describes the tree as good, declining, or dead. Describes the site as either good or poor.
Tree's Replacement Size/Type This shows the largest size and type of tree that may be planted in a particular site if either the tree is removed or one is to be planted. The tree sizes are large, medium, and small depending on the site conditions. The tree variety is considered either columnar (taller than wide) or spreading (wider than tall) also depending on site conditions. There are many different type of trees that can match a site. An experienced forester can best match species and sites, and also considers the overall diversity, health, and age of village's existing trees before recommending any variety of tree for planting.
Recommendation This states what should be the short-term course of action for a particular tree or site.
